***This painting is also a song that I have written and am going to record.

Here are the lyrics of the song-

"The Gift that Sleeps"

"The gift that you carried to me,

The way you laid it in my palms so delicately,

The way I took it and watched it color me,

The first kiss, the pedestal where you stood so meek.

And I’m unsure of how I’m supposed to feel and how I am supposed to act.

I’m caught between the wavy indecision of our pact.

Should I give myself to grief…

mourn the gift that sleeps?

Or should I take what you have to give

And learn to live?

Lately all I see is what’s wrong.

Is that because I am not strong?

Or do I see through the illusion

In your heart do you see where your gift sleeps

And I’m unsure of how I’m supposed to feel and

how I am supposed to act.

I’m caught between the wavy indecision of our pact.

Should I give myself to grief…

mourn the gift that sleeps?

Or should I take what you have to give

And learn to live?"
